Finally done

Well, finals are over, just two projects left until I'm out of school for the semester. My professors this term have been outstanding. Dr. Straffin, geology, really opened a lot of doors for me in understanding how the Earth works. Professor Wertz is a true joy. I just love absolutely everything about him. Brilliant, modest, humble, great family man, deep eyes and a face for breaking hearts. I couldn't help but notice when I met his wife that he seemed so proud of her, that his face literally glowed when he was looking at her. Just like his face when he was showing the class pictures of Eleanor. I doubt that I'll ever get to know him, but I sure would like to. He's perfect.

My Neighborhood

This is my younger sister's friend from high school, Shirley, and her 97 year old Mom. Mom and Dad Costa live across the street from me, unnassisted, except for frequent visits by their children and grandchildren.
This is my buddy Rick and our two brand new puppies. (only about a year old, but we got them yesterday) The big guy is Josh, and the littel guy is Timmy. They were horribly abused and neglected, but now they have fallen into La Dolce Vita!

Softball Game

This is my 75 year old buddy Jimmy. His birthday is the same day as mine, and he calls me "Dad." Jimmy is a farmer who owns a small country store in Venango. 15 years ago, Jimmy won $1,000 a week for life in the Pennsylvania Lottery, but he still works about 18 hours a day. I wish I could keep up with him!

Ambassador Hotel Photoshoot

This is my great friend Ian, who is in two of my classes. I was happy to be able to take a good picture of him at our photoshoot at the Ambassador Hotel. He is a very entertaining fellow. Ian graduates this week, but I'll never forget him.



My best Bud Shane Hess, (on the left) who has helped me get the most out of photojournalism class. He has been very patient with me and my lack of technological expertise, and I owe him BIG TIME.

The rapt audience at the presentation of PRSSA. Fewer attendees than expected, but it was a sucess, in my opinion.

Sometimes it seems like there is a huge cloud of gloom hanging over Edinboro, Pennsylvania, and if you drive five miles in any direction, the sun is shining brightly. The past winter was long and cold, too much snow, and we all needed spring. This video was of the flowers blooming and people moving about in vehicles that are not constantly sliding into each other.

Abby Road Zebra Crossing

These are a few of my pals in Meadville who agreed to help me with the picture. The guy on the far left is British, and he informed me that in England this is known as a "zebra crossing," pronounced zeb-ra, not zee-bra. We had a lot of fun making the picture, but it was difficult. I thought of using a stepladder, because the in original Abby Road picture, the camera was slightly elevated, but I think it came out OK. There wasn't much traffic, thank God. The name of the park where it was shot in Meadville is "Diamond Park," so I named the photo "Abby Lucy" to commemorate Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds as well as Abby Road.

Great People In My Life

This is Professor Murray, a great teacher and a great lady. I like to think of her as she is in this picture, explaining something elemental in a nice way. She is a very experienced writer, who now is passing along her wealth of knowledge not only about writing, but how to get published and make tons of money

This is a picture of a picture. The event was an exhibit at the Meadville Oncology Center about local history in Crawford County. Dad is holding a wooden lion head that was at the very top of an old 19th century hotel that was about to be torn down. He and his friend tied ropes to themselves so they wouldn't fall, and then climbed to the top if the facade with a chainsaw, cut the head out, and now it is saved for historic preservation

This is a mop bucket at the Meadville PennDot Garage where I used to work. No cameras are permitted on the premesis, but I needed evidence that my coworker was not cleaning her mop and standing it up to dry when she was finished mopping, as she had been repeatedly doing.

Old Homes

Most of my pictures so far have been of people, so I decided to switch. This is the house I lived in when I was in high school, in Meadville, Pa. It was not cut into apartments, we occupied the whole building. My father loved Victorian homes.
